Copy and Line Edit
Rate: $0.007 per word
A copy edit is for technical correctness of language and adherence to The Chicago Manual of Style.
A line edit is to polish your writing for beautiful and fluid storytelling.
Proofread
Proofreading is the final polish for your manuscript, catching minor errors before publication.
The manuscript should have already undergone multiple rounds of editing, and be prepared in a publication-ready format.

WHAT BOOKS WILL YOU NOT WORK ON?
Each book has its own target audience and I believe that the best person to critique and edit your work is part of that demographic. Every reader has their own preferences and limits with what they are and are not comfortable reading, and I ask that we all respect these differences to create a positive experience for everyone. ❤️

WHAT'S YOUR GenAI POLICY?
I am not willing to work with manuscripts that have been generated, wholly or partially, with GenAI.
Likewise, I will NEVER enter your work into any GenAI database like ChatGPT.
WHAT'S THE EXPECTED TURNAROUND TIME?
It varies by word count and state of the manuscript.
Approximately 5 weeks for 80k words.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LINE AND COPY EDIT?
Line edit: To improve the style of the text for better readability.
Copy edit: To correct technical errors such as grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It will also be edited to follow the Chicago Manual of Style or a provided style sheet.
I also include a style sheet of names and terms to check for consistency.
For example, if "Isabella" was written on page 6 but "Isabela" on the other pages, this will be noted.
WHAT ARE THE BOOKING AND PAYMENT TERMS?
A nonrefundable 50% deposit is required upon booking to reserve your slot.
The remaining 50% is expected upon completion. I'll send you the final invoice and the last fifteen edited pages by email. The entire manuscript will be returned to you when payment has been confirmed.
WHAT IF MY WORD COUNT CHANGES BEFORE OUR START DATE?
No worries! The final invoice will be adjusted. However, this can affect the expected turnaround time.
HOW DO I SEND MY MANUSCRIPT?
Manuscripts are accepted as a Microsoft Word file and formatted as 12pt, Times New Roman, double-spaced, and left-aligned. The first line of each paragraph should also be indented by 0.5 inch.
HOW DO I PAY?
Payments are accepted via Wise transfers since it offers less transaction fees.
